Step 1: A youth signs up.
High school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates who are interested in getting some support & scholarship money during the 2015-2016 school year must sign up by submitting the Coach Request Form by Friday, August 14th, 2015
Once their form is submitted, the project coordinator will get in touch with that youth to find out more about their interests and ideas for life after high school.

Step 2: Youth takes Financial Literacy Workshops.
To qualify for IDA scholarship savings, all youth must take a series of financial literacy workshops which teach strategies for budgeting, saving, navigating credit/banking, and financial aid. These classes take place every Wednesday during Teenspace throughout November and December (see calendar for more detail) at the FOTC office.
Step 3: Their coach is recruited.
While youth are completing their financial workshops, Heidi will recruit coaches specifically for each youth based on their individual interests and plans. For example, if a youth wants to enter the health/medical field, Heidi will look for a nursing or pre-med student to coach them.
Step 4: Next Steps Meetings continue during Teenspace.
Once youth are finished with all financial workshops, they will meet one-on-one with their coaches every week to work on their plans for the future & taking the steps to achieve them. For example, youth will apply for financial aid and for their chosen colleges, vocational programs, or jobs.
Meetings will continue every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30pm at Teenspace until the end of the school year. Our end-of-year celebration will be on Wednesday, June 10th, 2015!
